A considered beginning

An iPhone beta,
taking shape.

Preparing for TestFlight

Fieldnote is being developed by Ben Wedge. We’re preparing a limited TestFlight beta to test the recording, transcription, and account experience on real devices.

Email-link sign-in and passkeys are being completed. There is no public account creation or download yet. Join the waitlist below if you’d like to try the beta.

Transcripts and speaker labels can contain errors. Review the original recording when accuracy matters.

Where your information goes

Audio stays
on your iPhone.

The app transcribes recordings on the device. When backend sync is configured, completed transcript text is sent over HTTPS and stored with encryption at rest. The app does not upload the recording’s audio for this sync.

Personal follow-up tasks are stored locally. The waitlist emails your name, email address, and optional use case to Ben Wedge, so he can contact you about the beta. It does not accept recordings or transcripts.

Waitlist details are held in the project owner’s email. The website keeps keyed duplicate-prevention and rate-limit records, without storing your submitted name, email, or use case in its database. To withdraw interest, reply to any beta email you receive. Full app privacy information will be provided before the beta release.

Account email

A link when
you ask for one.

Sign-in and recovery, not a newsletter.

The planned account flow sends a one-time email link when you request sign-in or account recovery in the app. Passkeys will provide another way to sign in after enrollment.

Login emails will come from . The beta is not yet sending public sign-in emails.
